Ans: Export Promotion Councils are government-initiated authorities that promote and support export firms in developing their overseas trade and presence by providing technical and industry insights. 

The role played by an Export Promotion Council is to provide information which is useful for exporters or its members in increasing their exports, collects export and import data of its members as well as other data which is relevant to International Trade, offers advice to their members related to Technology, quality control, standards, etc.

Commodity Boards are statutory in character and Operate under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce. These are essentially the producer controlled organizations with government support and authority over a broad range of functions starting with production, processing, and marketing of the crops.

There function is to take an active interest in production, development, and exports of respective Commodities, introducing new methods of cultivation of commodities, offers advice to the government on export matters such as fixing quota for exports and significant trade agreements, providing information, guidance and various other services to their members and help them in their export promotion efforts.
